Three New Kindle Models See Major Price Drops in Latest Amazon Sale
Three Kindle Models Slashed in Price in Amazon Sale

Amazon has reduced prices on three Kindle models, offering significant savings for readers looking to invest in a new ereader. The devices on sale include the Kindle Kids, the new Colorsoft model, and the Scribe, which features note-taking capabilities. All three are compatible with Kindle Unlimited, Amazon's reading subscription service that costs £9.49 per month and provides access to millions of books. New Kindle purchases also come with three months of Kindle Unlimited for free.

Kindle Kids

The Kindle Kids models have seen price drops across the board. The basic Kindle Kids has fallen from £114.99 to £89.99, the Kindle Paperwhite Kids from £169.99 to £134.99, and the Kindle Colorsoft Kids from £259.99 to £194. These devices come with a child-friendly cover and a two-year worry-free guarantee, meaning any breakage can result in a free replacement. They also include a six-month Kids+ subscription, which provides unlimited access to children's books, games, and videos. After that, the subscription costs £4.99 per month for Prime members or £6.99 for non-Prime users. The device is lightweight, has a battery life of up to six weeks on a single charge, and features a parent dashboard for managing content and screen time.

Kindle Colorsoft

The Kindle Colorsoft is the first Kindle with colour technology, making it ideal for reading graphic novels and highlighting text in different colours. It is currently 27% off, priced at £174 (down from £239.99). The device has a 7-inch high-contrast display that is easy on the eyes and is waterproof, making it suitable for poolside reading. Battery life is up to eight weeks on a single charge, though this is slightly less than the Paperwhite. Compared to the Kobo Clara Colour (£149.99), the Colorsoft offers a larger screen and longer battery life, though the Kobo provides access to free books via Libby.

Kindle Scribe

The Kindle Scribe combines an ereader with a notebook, allowing users to write directly on the screen with the included Premium Pen. It is now £304.99, down from £429.99, a saving of £125. The device features built-in AI tools for summarising and refining notes, and it is ideal for those looking to limit social media screen time. It competes with the Kobo Libra Colour (£209.99), which also offers writing capabilities but requires a separate stylus purchase (£69.99). While the Kobo option is cheaper overall, the Scribe provides a larger screen and a more seamless note-taking experience.
