A reseller has alerted bargain hunters to three specific brands of jigsaw puzzles that can be found in charity shops and at car boot sales, which often sell for astonishing three-figure sums on eBay. Kev, the reseller, explained that while most pre-owned puzzles sell for modest profits, these rare brands command "crazy money" due to their unique features and high demand among collectors.
Heye Puzzles: Triangular Boxes Signal High Value
Kev disclosed that the first brand to watch for is Heye, which is easily identifiable by its distinctive triangular packaging. He emphasised the importance of conducting thorough research before purchasing, as not all Heye products yield the same lucrative returns. However, many can sell for upwards of £50, with some reaching between £90 and £100. To support his claim, Kev pointed to eBay's completed listings, where multiple Heye jigsaws sold for around £100 in the first six weeks of 2026 alone.
Wentworth: Wooden-Pieced Modern Puzzles with Strong Demand
The second brand on the list is Wentworth, known for its wooden-pieced modern puzzles. Although Kev has never personally found one, he noted that other resellers frequently discuss them due to their potential for high profits. He shared screenshots of eBay sold listings, showing that four Wentworth jigsaws listed between December 2025 and February 2026 fetched prices ranging from £99.53 to £125.50. Kev advised that if you find these puzzles at a reasonable price, they are a guaranteed pick-up because the demand is exceptionally strong.
Victory Gold Box: Vintage Puzzles with a Mystery Twist
Rounding out the list is Victory Gold Box puzzles, which feature an old vintage style and come in completely gold packaging. Similar to Wentworth, these are wooden puzzles, but their unique appeal lies in the absence of an illustration on the box. This means buyers only know the subject from the title, adding an element of surprise as they assemble the puzzle. Kev recounted finding a Victory Gold Box at a £1 charity shop clearance sale and selling it for approximately £140. He declared that these puzzles are well worth seeking out, as their value has remained consistently high, with recent eBay sales all exceeding £150.
