The Range has reduced the price of the Livivo Electric Heated Blanket from £83.22 to £34.99, a 58 percent saving off the recommended retail price. The blanket is designed to provide extra warmth without needing to turn up the thermostat, helping shoppers keep energy bills down.
Measuring 130x160cm, the blanket is suitable for use on the sofa, as an extra layer on the bed, or wrapped around the body when working from a home office. It is powered by 130W, and a product description claims it can save on energy bills by costing from just "3p-per-hour to run."
Running costs checked
The 3p-per-hour figure was based on 2023 energy prices and did not take into account the 2026 Ofgem price cap increase. However, the Daily Record double-checked the running costs using Uswitch's electricity guide, which showed that a slightly more powerful 150W blanket costs 32p over an eight-hour night, roughly working out at around 4p-per-hour.
To help keep costs down, it is advised to use lower heat settings on heated blankets and throws. Even without the heating element, the Livivo blanket remains warm, with the brand claiming its blankets, approved by Good Housekeeping, provide "premium comfort" thanks to the soft flannel outer layer material.
Features and alternatives
The blanket includes a 1-9 hour timer and an auto-shut off function. It is available in a neutral white colourway and comes with a detachable remote, allowing it to be easily washed when needed.
Other energy-saving items are also available. The Sleepdown Electric Under Blanket is priced at £14.99 and features three heat settings, overheat protection, and a "super soft, cosy fabric." B&M is stocking the Cosy Shop Waffle Heated Throw at £35, which the Daily Record recently reviewed as "perfect for cold spells."
The 58 percent discount on the Livivo Electric Heated Blanket is available at The Range now.
