The Ivy Newcastle opening dates revealed as reservations open

The Ivy has confirmed it will open two restaurants in Newcastle by the end of 2026, with reservations now open for the first venue. The luxury restaurant group revealed the launch dates by beaming projections onto Grey Street and the Baltic in Gateshead on Tuesday evening.

Two venues in former Lloyds bank building

The restaurants will occupy both floors of the former Lloyds bank building on Grey Street. Original plans to bring The Ivy to Newcastle were delayed by the Covid pandemic before being revived last year, when proposals were submitted for the site.

The Ivy Brasserie, located on the ground floor, will open first on Tuesday, December 1. Ivy Asia will follow on Thursday, December 3, taking over the upper floor.

Menus and reservations

The Ivy Brasserie will offer its signature all-day dining, including breakfast, brunch, classic dishes, seasonal menus and evening dinners. Upstairs, Ivy Asia will serve Asian-inspired dishes, sushi, and feature chic interiors.

Reservations for the Brasserie are open now. A description teases: "Perfect for breakfast before a day of exploring Grainger Market, leisurely lunches with loved ones or dinner before a night at the Theatre or Bigg Market or Cloth Market. We can't wait to open our doors to welcome you to our new home."
