The Entertainer is opening a new 4,500 sq ft store in St David's Shopping Centre, Cardiff, on Saturday, September 10. The toy retailer, which previously operated from Queen's Arcade, is relocating to a ground-floor unit near the Working Street entrance.
New store features and product range
The store will offer an increased selection of popular toys and games, including LEGO, Marvel, Pokémon, Bluey, Funko Pop, Hot Wheels and GuiGui, alongside trending items such as Squishy Dumplings and the retailer's own-brand ranges Early Learning Centre, Meccano and Yummy Buddies.
It will be the first full-size pilot of The Entertainer's new 'DropZone' collectibles concept and the first of its new Generation 6 format, which includes added in-store features and new products. Shoppers will find a dedicated hands-on area for LEGO enthusiasts to create model designs, a 'selfie window' for families, a sensory play wall and a Happyland play table.
Dedicated Early Learning Centre zone
The store will also include a dedicated Early Learning Centre zone for parents and grandparents to explore developmental toys, plus a range of children's books.
Andrew Murphy OBE, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Entertainer, said: "We're evolving our range and our customer proposition at pace meaning that, just 18 months and eight new stores after launching our Generation 5 store concept, we've added so many new products and in-store features that we're already onto Generation 6."
Opening day events and charity partnership
To celebrate opening day, customers can enjoy free face painting from 10am to 12pm and meet Bluey and Muffin from 11am to 3pm. The Entertainer is also partnering with local children's charity Sparkle for a trolley dash experience to fill a trolley with toys.
