TG Jones Inverness store launches closing down sale

A closing down sale is underway at a branch of a UK stationery chain. Locals have reportedly seen "everything must go" banners in the storefront window of the TG Jones branch in Inverness, Scotland.

Closure details

A closure date has not been confirmed. Trading is understood to have been poor, however.

TG Jones's owner, Modella Capital, gained approval for a company-wide restructure on July 1. Up to 150 stores are at risk of closure, while rent is set to be cut by 15 to 75 per cent on hundreds more.

"High street dying a little bit more," one shopper said about the Inverness branch closure. "Very sad," said another.
