Tesco expands Uber Eats delivery to all UK stores after trial
Tesco expands Uber Eats delivery to all UK stores

Tesco has confirmed it is expanding its partnership with food delivery service Uber Eats to all of its UK stores, following a successful trial in 73 shops. The rollout means shoppers will be able to receive a trolley full of groceries in as little as 20 minutes.

Expansion across thousands of stores

The retail giant said the service, previously tested in a limited number of locations, will now be available at thousands of Tesco stores across the country. Customers will also be able to access hundreds of Clubcard Prices and earn Clubcard points when shopping through the app.

The move builds on Tesco's existing Whoosh service, which is available at around 1,800 stores in the UK. Tesco said it wants to make shopping "as convenient as possible" for its customers with the expansion of its Uber Eats partnership.

Company and partner statements

"Our launch on Uber Eats gives even more people access to the outstanding quality, value and range they expect from us," said Tesco digital director Rob Graham.

Katie Hunter, Uber Eats UK general manager for grocery & retail, said: "We’re thrilled to launch Tesco on a delivery platform for the first time with Uber Eats, now bringing their much-loved product ranges to even more customers. With Clubcard being integrated in the app from day one, our customers are already enjoying the ease and convenience of rapid delivery while still claiming their favourite Tesco rewards."

Additional partnership and Whoosh growth

Tesco is also planning to partner with Deliveroo in September to give customers more options for home grocery delivery. Both partnerships add to the Whoosh service, which has grown significantly since launching in 2021, with sales increasing by 51% last year and around 1.5 million customers now using it.

With Whoosh, Tesco customers can book same-day delivery windows, shop without a minimum spend, complete larger basket shops, and access an expanded range through more than 250 larger Tesco stores.
