Three teenage boys have been arrested after approximately 200 young people descended on Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, causing chaos in the food court. Police were called to the scene at around 3pm on Monday and issued a dispersal order to clear the crowds.
Two 16-year-olds from London were arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance, while another 16-year-old from London was detained on suspicion of common assault. All three remain under investigation, Kent Police confirmed.
Chief Inspector Sarah Rivett of Dartford Police said the force is prepared for further antisocial behaviour as summer holidays begin. “We encourage anyone to think twice before participating in these kinds of incidents, as it could have serious consequences on your future,” she warned.
Bluewater, one of the UK's largest shopping centres, features over 300 stores and 50 restaurants. Police have reminded young people that a criminal record is not worth a moment of boredom or fun.
