St Johns Decor store closing with 50% off sale

Decor, a homeware store at St Johns Shopping Centre in Liverpool, is closing in July with a 50% off sale on all remaining items. The store, located on the outside of the complex on Clayton Square, has been stripped bare ahead of its final day of operations.

Store closure details

Decor offered a range of home goods, including blankets, carpets, and kitchenware, alongside travel items such as suitcases and bags. A limited number of items remain, concentrated in the centre of the premises. Railings have been removed from the walls, and massive discounts are in place. A staff member told the ECHO that Decor is scheduled to close sometime next month, but an exact date could not be confirmed.

St Johns Market future

Liverpool Council has partnered with Avison Young to find new occupiers for St Johns Market, a 90,000 sq ft site that has been shut since 2024 after closing due to a row over unpaid rents totalling £2.1 million. It was confirmed earlier this year that it will not reopen as a market. The location, spanning basement, ground, and mezzanine levels, is being made available for retail, leisure, entertainment, or creative sectors. Cllr Nick Small, Liverpool Council cabinet member for growth and economy, said the market represented an “incredible opportunity for something different and exciting to come to the streets of the city centre.”

St Johns Beacon interest

The iconic St Johns Beacon, also known as the Radio City Tower, is in high demand. Representatives have extended the deadline for submissions for new owners to revive the landmark. The 138-metre building, completed in 1969, was home to Radio City for nearly 25 years until the station moved out in late 2024. St Johns, the management company for the tower, market, and car park, said the building required remedial work after Bauer Media vacated. These works are nearing completion, and multiple offers and “strong expressions of interest” have been made by companies hoping to occupy the tower.
