Lakeland's Dry:Soon Mini 3-Tier Heated Airer is winning over shoppers with its foldable heated shelves and compact build, offering 13m of drying space and the ability to handle 15kg of wet laundry while costing as little as 5p to run.
For those living in flats or homes with limited outdoor space, drying washing is a year-round challenge. As colder months approach, many will pack away the washing line and look for indoor drying alternatives. Lakeland claims the airer costs just 5p to run compared to 65p for a standard tumble dryer, without the risk of overheating.
Compact design and savings
The slimline profile suits smaller homes, and six fold-out shelves allow an entire load to be dried without taking over the room. Lakeland notes the airer is gentler on clothes than tumble drying and keeps radiators free for heating. T-shirts, socks, and bulkier items can be draped over the rungs, while delicate garments can be laid flat to prevent stretching.
Bath towels can be draped over the top to avoid trailing on the carpet. The gadget is sturdy yet light, with side supports for added stability. It folds down to just 8cm deep, making it easy to tuck behind furniture. Its dimensions are 60 x 63 x 113.5cm.
Pricing and alternatives
Usually priced at £129.99, it is currently reduced by £15 to £114.99. A bundle including a cover is available for £154.98 (was £169.98). Elsewhere, Dunelm's 3 Tier Heated Airer is priced at £95 with a 4.4 star rating, and Argos offers the Home 21m 3 Tier Heated Airer at £78.75, down from £105.
The Lakeland product holds a 4.2 out of five star rating on the retailer's website. One customer said: "Cost effective. I can't believe how quickly my clothes are drying. I have heard a lot about these dryers from my friends and family."
