A shopper who bought a £5.99 mirrored plaque from The Range was left fuming after noticing a grammatical error on the item once she got it home. The woman, known as Han on TikTok, purchased the 'It's Good To Be Home Mirrored Plaque' and displayed it on her wall, only to spot the mistake on closer inspection.
The Error on the Plaque
The plaque features the text: "The address to be write here," instead of the correct "written." Han shared zoomed-in photos on TikTok, and some viewers initially failed to spot the error, prompting her to highlight it further.
The Range's website describes the product as: "Welcome warmth and positivity with the It's Good To Be Home Mirrored Plaque. Perfect for hallway or living room walls, this framed mirrored wall art creates a welcoming atmosphere with its sentimental quote."
Shopper's Reaction and Contact with The Range
Han contacted The Range's customer service team, joking that it was an "unusual query." She wrote: "I know that mistakes happen and I'm not usually one to nitpick, but I have to ask...how did this make it through the design stage, proofreading, printing, and onto the shelves without anyone noticing it?"
She added: "The print is lovely, but I now have what can only be described as a grammatical crime scene hanging in my house. Every time I look at it, I have more questions than answers." Han clarified she wasn't exactly "complaining" but wanted to know if others had flagged the same issue.
The Range's Response
A spokesperson for The Range said: "Hands up, our grammar needs a little wrapping up! This one should, of course, say 'address to be written here', and we're putting it 'write' on the next batch."
The spokesperson added: "With the current stock almost sold out, we're hoping customers will forgive us a few words out of place." The company has not announced a recall, and the plaque remains available while stock lasts.
