Shark pet vacuum £150 after £90 off as hundreds sold

Shark's Classic Upright Pet Vacuum, described by the brand as its 'best for homes with pets', has been reduced from £239.99 to £149.99, saving shoppers £90. The model is selling quickly, with SharkNinja flagging it as 'in demand' and noting 'hundreds sold' this week.

Where to find the deal

The same price is available at Argos, while John Lewis lists the vacuum at £159.99, down from £199.99. According to Shark, the Classic Upright Pet Vacuum is its lightest corded model with a liftaway feature, weighing 5.6kg, and can clean carpets, hard floors and stairs using two cleaning modes.

The pod detaches easily to turn into a portable vacuum, suitable for hard-to-reach spots such as curtains and ceilings. For pet owners, the included pet tool has a bristle brush designed to remove embedded hair from carpets and upholstery.

Features and performance

The vacuum switches between hard floor and carpet modes at the press of a button, and LED headlights in the brushhead illuminate fine dust and dirt. Shark says the anti-allergen seal captures and traps 99.9% of dust and allergens, while swivel steering and an 8m power cord aid manoeuvrability.

Shoppers have given the vacuum a 4.3-star rating from more than 1,500 reviews. One buyer said: “What an amazingly effective vacuum cleaner. I vacuumed the carpet with our existing machines and then with the Shark. The result was surprising and a bit gross; half filled with dog hair and dust. As it’s so powerful, the filter needs cleaning regularly, but a small price for the deeper level of cleaning.”

Shopper feedback and alternatives

Another reviewer commented: “Fabulous vacuum cleaner. It’s very powerful and easy to use the tools. Also easy to empty and rinse the filters, so there’ll be no horrible vacuum smell. I cleaned the car with it too, absolutely excellent.” However, one buyer noted: “It’s very powerful [and] I like the fact you can detach the hose to get to the smaller areas. However, the [vacuum] does carry some weight to it and is not the easiest to use.”

A five-star review added: “It’s a light machine with very good suction power even on the minimum setting. It’s also a lot easier to empty than the old Dyson I used to have. It’s well-designed, and an absolute breeze to use.”

For those preferring a cordless option, Dyson has reduced its V8 Cyclone by £100 to £249.99, down from £349.99, described as Dyson's most powerful V8 vacuum with 30% more suction than the original. Amazon also offers the Proscenic P20 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Mop at £139.98, down from £169.99, until August 24.
