Shoppers are rushing to Sainsbury's after the supermarket launched an exclusive new Baileys flavour, Cinnamon Swirl. The limited-edition 700ml bottle, priced at £20, has already sparked a frenzy among cream liqueur enthusiasts eager to get a taste of autumn.
The drink, which features an image of a cinnamon bun on its red and cream bottle, is £3 more expensive than the original Baileys. Despite the higher price, fans have been quick to share their excitement on social media, with many planning to use it in hot chocolate or coffee.
One post on the food finds page 'Well This Is New' simply stated: 'Cinnamon Swirl Bailey's! At Sainsbury's.' Comments included 'Cinnamon season is coming' and 'That's my sober streak ending then, cinnamon Bailey's hot chocolate sounds heavenly.' However, some shoppers expressed reservations about the price, with one writing: 'At £20 it can stay on the shelf. But at a fair price I'd absolutely try this.'
This launch comes as Baileys, which typically sees 90% of its annual sales during Christmas, introduces a seasonal twist. Meanwhile, a different limited-edition flavour, Toffee Popcorn Movie Night Baileys, has been spotted in Asda, priced at £16.98 for a 700ml bottle.
Both new offerings are part of a broader trend as retailers gear up for autumn, with other seasonal items such as Starbucks coffee sachets also appearing in Sainsbury's.
