Marcus Rashford has no interest in leaving Manchester United for Fenerbahce, according to reports. The Turkish club, who qualified for the Champions League, are seeking a statement signing and have placed Rashford at the top of their transfer wish list.
Rashford's stance on Fenerbahce move
Despite Barcelona declining to sign him permanently after a successful loan spell, the 28-year-old was still expected to move on. However, he has been welcomed back by Michael Carrick and made his first competitive appearance for United in over 18 months last Saturday.
Rashford was introduced at half-time against Hull City and, though he failed to make an impact, Carrick has been impressed. A departure in the final days of the window remains possible, but Rashford has no plans to accept any approach from Fenerbahce, as reported by The Sun.
Arsenal and Barcelona links
Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Rashford in recent days, particularly as Gabriel Martinelli is set to join Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal. The Gunners appear to have sanctioned the move despite having no replacement in the process of coming in.
That may be because Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez has been their focus recently, with his dream switch to Barcelona appearing unlikely to materialise as Diego Simeone's side have no plans to sell to their La Liga rivals. Barcelona are yet to find a successor for Robert Lewandowski but have invested heavily in Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi rather than pursuing Rashford.
United's midfield focus and other targets
Amad's injury is likely to lead to increased playing time for Rashford, who is also capable of operating centrally. Benjamin Sesko is anticipated to feature in the starting line-up against Ipswich Town this weekend following his return from injury with a brief appearance last weekend. Joshua Zirkzee is the alternative option who can be utilised as the forward, but he appears poised to depart in the closing stages of the window, with Fiorentina in discussions to bring him back to Italy on a season-long loan.
United have predominantly concentrated on strengthening their midfield this summer, with Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba arriving, and further business remains on the cards with Toby Collyer set to join West Brom. A new left-back has been targeted by United with the likes of Joaquin Seys, Jorge Salinas and Alejandro Balde linked after Newcastle made it clear they would not be selling Lewis Hall. Myles Lewis-Skelly, who prefers to play in midfield over left-back, also emerged as an interest but that move became unlikely once Baleba was signed from Brighton.
