Primark Unveils First UK Mobile App with Real-Time Stock Tracking

Primark has officially launched its inaugural mobile customer application in the United Kingdom, marking a significant digital advancement for the value retailer. The app is designed to streamline the shopping journey by offering personalised notifications and a real-time stock check function, enabling customers to verify item availability in stores before visiting.

Enhanced Features for Modern Shoppers

In addition to stock checks, the app facilitates easier use of Primark's click and collect service, which is now operational across all 189 UK stores following a successful rollout. This service allows users to order and pay for products online and subsequently collect them in person. Notably, these functionalities are also accessible via the main Primark website, providing multiple digital touchpoints for consumers.

The app was initially introduced in Ireland and Italy during the summer of 2025 and is currently available for download on both the App Store and Google Play Store. Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark, emphasised the app's role in meeting customer expectations for value and convenience, stating it delivers an effortless shopping experience directly to users' hands.

Executive Insights on Digital Integration

Matt Houston, Chief Customer and Digital Officer at Primark, highlighted the app's development as a response to growing consumer reliance on digital tools. He expressed confidence that the app will offer an intuitive and personalised experience, enhancing every Primark visit for UK shoppers. This launch aligns with broader trends in retail digitalisation, aiming to make shopping more rewarding and connected.

Contextual Developments in Employee Welfare

Coinciding with the app launch, Primark recently implemented a pay rise for its retail staff, benefiting over 27,000 employees. From April 1, the average hourly wage for shop floor workers increased to a minimum of £13, with London-based staff receiving £13.71 per hour. Employees will continue to enjoy a 15% discount, reinforcing Primark's commitment to its workforce of more than 30,000 individuals across the UK.

Kari Rodgers noted that this investment acknowledges the escalating pressures faced by shop workers and values their contributions to customers and local communities. She underscored the importance of recognising their hard work and dedication in an increasingly demanding retail environment.
