Marks & Spencer shoppers are snapping up the retailer's Suede Single Strap Mary Jane Trainers, priced at £50 and described as a 'great alternative to trainers'. The shoes, available in taupe and brown, are listed as 'in demand' and selling fast across sizes 3 to 8.
The low-top suede trainers feature a flat sole, a Mary-Jane-inspired strap with riptape fastening, decorative stitching, and a contrast trim. M&S describes them as a 'stylish makeover' of sporty style.
Customer reviews on the M&S website give the shoes a 3.6-star rating. One shopper, Carolita, called them 'comfortable and a great copy of Adidas Mary Jane'. Another, Janice, said they are 'great for everyday wear when it warms up'. However, Sofia noted that the trimming is made of 'thin plastic material' which she expects to 'wear and fall apart after a while'.
M&S also sells Suede Side Detail Platform Trainers for £46. Competitors offer similar styles: Adidas sells the Barreda Mary Jane Shoes for £55, and John Lewis stocks the White Stuff Pippa Mary Jane Trainers for £39.
