Marks & Spencer has released a new version of its popular faux suede trench coat for spring 2026, following the sell-out success of last year's style. The Suedette Longline Car Coat, priced at £85, features a smart neckline, longline length, and relaxed fit, designed for layering over knits, shirts, or t-shirts.
The original Faux Suede Double Breasted Longline Trench Coat went viral last spring and sold out quickly. With suede remaining a key trend, the retailer has launched an updated iteration in chocolate brown, which has already garnered five-star reviews from shoppers.
One customer described it as a 'lovely smart and fashionable coat,' while another who missed out on the previous version said: 'I missed out on the chocolate trench last year so as soon as I saw this I had to order. It fits perfectly.' A third reviewer noted the coat runs large, advising to size down for a better fit.
However, one shopper criticised the popper fastenings, suggesting a zip would be preferable. The coat is available now, with alternatives from Stradivarius and Next also on the market.
