M&S Christmas baubles range divides shoppers with early festive launch
M&S Christmas baubles divide shoppers over early launch

Marks & Spencer has launched its annual festive baubles online, featuring decorations inspired by some of the brand’s most iconic products. The range includes a Glass Hanging Gingerbread & White Chocolate Cookie Ornament, priced at £8, which has already become a bestseller on the website.

Other decorations in the range include a Percy Pig Tree Topper for £10, a two-pack of Glitter Glass Percy Pig baubles also for £10, a glass Big Daddy bauble for £6, and a Connie the Caterpillar tree decoration for £8.

Although the supermarket’s official online Christmas Shop is still marked as “coming soon”, all the baubles are available to purchase on the regular site now.

Shoppers split over early Christmas push

Reaction to the launch has been mixed. While some shoppers expressed excitement, with one user saying she “wants them all”, others criticised the early timing. @cookinju called it “absolutely ridiculous”, while @ChattyPatty wrote: “As cute as these are, can we please not! It’s still August!”

@marie noted: “It’s just too early, I’m not thinking about Christmas yet”, and @SharonfromSouthend added: “Just no! It’s way too soon for the C word”.

Other brands also releasing festive products early

The early Christmas push is not limited to M&S. Terry’s Chocolate Orange has already introduced two products for the festive season, including a 330g Chocolate Orange XL tablet spotted on shelves just over a week ago, as well as the relaunch of its White Chocolate Orange.

Despite the criticism, many customers appear happy to embrace the festive spirit early. @Jewels shared online: “The cookie one is the cutest thing ever! And yes I know it’s August, but I’m literally so excited for Christmas this year!”

@Wahumgoodie added: “I’ll be spending my pay check in the big M&S for this!”
