M&S £12 Perfume 'Smells Like' £128 Designer Fragrance

Shoppers are claiming that a £12 perfume from Marks and Spencer could pass for a designer fragrance costing over £120. The M&S Fresh Mandarin Eau de Toilette, available in 30ml for £8 and 100ml for £12, has been compared to Carolina Herrera's Good Girl, which retails at £128 for an 80ml bottle.

The perfume's notes include mandarin, orange flower, cassis, jasmine, rose, ylang ylang, tonka bean, vanilla, amber and sandalwood. These overlap significantly with Good Girl's notes of almond, tuberose, jasmine, tonka bean and cocoa, according to product listings.

Instagram user Laura, known as @Moneysavingofficial, said: 'This M&S fragrance could save you £128.' She claims the scent is 'just like' the designer alternative. Other shoppers have echoed this, with one review stating: 'Smells divine... by far my favourite scent!'

The Fresh Mandarin is part of M&S's Discover collection, which has previously seen comparisons between its Midnight Blossom and YSL's Black Opium, and its Pink Pepper with Lancôme's La Vie Est Belle.
