Morrisons Offers 10% Reward to Selected Customers Until June 30

Morrisons is giving selected customers a limited-time opportunity to earn a 10% reward by spending £250 before June 30. The supermarket urges shoppers to check the Morrisons More app to see if they have been invited to participate in the promotion.

How to Qualify for the 10% Reward

Members of the Morrisons More loyalty scheme who have been invited need to scan their More Card during in-store visits or ensure it is linked to their online account. A Morrisons spokesperson explained: "You can shop as little and as often as you like to build up your total." This includes both in-store and online purchases, as long as the card is scanned with each transaction.

Shoppers can track their spending progress on the Morrisons More app, printed receipts, or the retailer's website. Morrisons confirmed that total transactions should appear within 72 hours for online orders. Those who reach the £250 threshold will receive a voucher worth 10% of that amount, or £25, in the My Offers section of their account within 72 hours. Vouchers must be activated before they can be redeemed.

Morrisons Faces Competitive Market Pressures

The offer comes as Morrisons battles rivals in a highly competitive grocery market. On June 17, the company reported a slowdown in sales growth for the 13 weeks to April 26. Total sales rose by 1.7% to £4 billion, compared with 2.6% growth in the previous quarter. Like-for-like sales growth also slowed to 2.2% from 2.8%.

Morrisons recently lost its position as the UK’s fifth-largest grocery chain to discount rival Lidl and is now the sixth largest, following a decline in market share over recent years. Despite this, the retailer stressed it made "good progress" in its growth strategy, focusing on value to attract shoppers.

Expansion Plans and CEO Comments

In the same quarter, Morrisons opened 30 new Morrisons Daily franchise stores and plans to open hundreds more in the coming years. CEO Rami Baitieh said: "In a highly competitive market, we’re focusing hard on delivering the best value for customers to give them more reasons to shop at Morrisons. While more recent international news creates some grounds for optimism, we continue to monitor the impact of input inflation very closely and we remain committed to doing whatever we can to help keep prices down for customers."

Shoppers are advised to act quickly, as the promotion ends on June 30, and invited customers should check their app to avoid missing out on the 10% reward.
