Morrisons has launched three new luxury chocolate bars inspired by classic British biscuit-tin favourites, available in Custard Cream milk chocolate, Jaffa Orange milk chocolate, and Peanut Butter and Jelly milk chocolate.
Chunky dessert-style bars
Rather than simply flavouring the chocolate itself, each bar is chunky and filled with thick, creamy layers sandwiched between the chocolate, making them feel more like a proper dessert than a standard confectionery pick.
TikTok verdict
Food blogger Minstrel Munches was among the first to try the bars, showing them off on TikTok. She tasted the Custard Cream flavour, which features a vanilla cream and biscuit crunch filling enrobed in milk chocolate. Before taking a bite, she noted it "smells like custard creams" - and was immediately won over.
"Wow. That is top tier. There's actually biscuit pieces in there. In the custard cream ... cream. That is elite. Good biscuit pieces, getting the custard cream flavour, that's a 10 out of 10. Get down [to] Morrisons and give it a try," she said.
Viewers were quick to respond, with many declaring the bars "look insane" and saying they wanted to try all three. One person wrote: "These look insane!! I really need to go have a look and try them out, soooo yummy looking!!" Another added: "I will be smashing these." A third commented: "I really want to try the custard cream bar!"
Price and reviews
Each of the three bars costs £2 for a 165g bar and is listed as "luxury chocolate" on the Morrisons website. The Jaffa Orange bar is described as featuring a "zesty orange jelly layer", while the Peanut Butter and Jelly bar has a "creamy, nutty, and fruity jelly layer", both coated in milk chocolate.
The bars are too new to have Morrisons website reviews, but social media has made up for that. The Jaffa Orange bar has already been reviewed on Instagram, where it scored 7.5 out of 10. The reviewer called it "good quality" but warned it can get "very messy" if you try to break it into squares because of the gooey filling inside.
"Good quality thick chunks of milk chocolate with a gooey Jaffa orange sauce in each block. It's got the combo of both Jaffa and orange. It's not pure Jaffa. Very messy if you break through the squares, so break carefully," the reviewer commented.
