Morrisons has unveiled new features for its More Card app, designed to improve the shopping experience for customers across its 497 UK supermarkets. The supermarket has refreshed the app’s look and feel and introduced features such as individual shopping lists, positioning it as a one-stop destination for grocery shopping needs.
Personalised offers and shopping lists
Customers will now receive six weekly offers tailored to their shopping habits, with percentage discounts or extra More Points available when they purchase those items during the offer period. The new personal shopping list lets customers add products as they think of them, including scanning items at home when they run out, so they are ready for the next store visit.
Gareth Lloyd, value and loyalty marketing director at Morrisons, said: “We’re always listening to our customers and looking for ways to make the Morrisons More Card app even better. We’ve built on what customers already love, making the app easier to use and navigate, while introducing smarter, hyper-personalised offers and convenient features to simplify everyday shopping.”
Rewards and app improvements
He added that the improvements focus on “ensuring our customers get maximum value and rewards tailored specifically to them.” The More Card loyalty scheme remains free to join, and customers who earn 5,000 Points can receive a £5 Morrisons voucher, redeemable in-store or online on a future shop. The card is available as a physical card or a digital version on the app.
The app now features a refreshed design with key functions easier to locate, including the Price & Product Finder, which has been moved to the homepage. Morrisons operates close to 500 large supermarkets nationwide, along with numerous smaller Morrisons Daily convenience stores.
New Click & Collect trial
The retailer recently announced it is trialling a new feature to speed up shopping in North Yorkshire, claiming to be the first UK supermarket to do so. Morrisons is piloting an automated Click & Collect grocery locker at its Skipton store, capable of storing food at multiple temperatures.
Click & Collect orders placed at the store will be packed in paper bags and stored in a locker accessible with a six-digit code. The units are marked frozen, chilled, or grocery to keep food in the right conditions outside the store. Each unit can hold up to three shopping bags, with larger orders distributed across multiple lockers.
