Morrisons has rolled out a new clothing policy across its UK stores this June, enabling shoppers to receive a complimentary hot beverage. In celebration of the FIFA World Cup 2026, which began on Thursday, June 11, the supermarket chain is rewarding football fans who visit its cafes wearing their national team's shirt with a free drink, with no minimum spend required.
The promotion runs from now until Sunday, June 28. Customers can choose from a selection of hot drinks, including tea, americano, latte, or cappuccino, or a chilled fizzy drink from the dispenser. Mochas and hot chocolate are not included, and each customer can redeem one free drink per day.
The offer is exclusively for dine-in customers and cannot be combined with other drink promotions. Eligible customers must be wearing apparel representing a nation participating in the 2026 World Cup.
This initiative aims to help football enthusiasts embrace the tournament spirit. The free drink is available all day, every day, allowing customers to display their team colors and enjoy a complimentary beverage whenever they visit.
Alongside the drink offer, Morrisons has launched a limited-edition Match Day menu. Highlights include the Morri Match Day Burger (£12), featuring two quarter-pound burgers, two cheese slices, bacon, and hash browns, served with chips and coleslaw. The Loaded Hot Dog (£6.50) is a jumbo hot dog topped with onion rings, nacho cheese sauce, and crispy onions.
For early risers after late matches, Morrisons Cafés open at 8 am Monday to Saturday, and from 10 am to 4 pm on Sundays, offering fresh coffee and classic bacon butties (£4.50). The Match Day menu is available until Sunday, July 19.
Will Reed, senior buying manager at Morrisons, said: “The summer of football is one of the biggest sporting moments in the calendar and brings people together through a shared love of the game. We wanted to give supporters a fun way to celebrate the tournament, so we’re delighted to be offering a free drink to customers who visit our cafés wearing their nation’s football shirt. Alongside our new Match Day Menu, we hope the free drink offer gives fans another reason to get involved and show their support this summer.”
