McDonald's Wrap of the Day Move to App Angers Customers Threatening Boycott
McDonald's Wrap of the Day App Move Sparks Boycott Threats

McDonald's has made a major change to one of its popular deals, leaving many fans fuming and some even threatening to boycott the restaurant over the move.

Wrap of the Day Moves to App

The fast food giant will move its famous Wrap of the Day promotion exclusively to the McDonald's app from next month. Starting July 14, customers will no longer be able to order the deal at restaurant kiosks.

The deal, offering a rotating daily wrap for just £2.49, has been a menu staple since 2011. Those who normally order at the till must now use the app, either for in-store collection or delivery.

New 'Get Any Wrap in the App' Promotion

Customers will need to redeem the wrap through a new promotion called 'Get Any Wrap in the App', available via the McDonald's app. Anyone attempting to order at the kiosk will pay the standard menu price, ranging from £4.49 to £5.79.

The change allows customers to order any wrap they want for £2.49 between 11am and 11pm daily, instead of being restricted to a specific day's wrap. However, only one wrap per day can be redeemed.

Customer Backlash

The news has upset many Wrap of the Day fans, who took to social media to vent anger. Some threatened to boycott the chain, while others complained the deal was the only reason they visited McDonald's.

On Reddit, user @rainmaker818 said: "The final nail for me. About the only thing I bought from them occasionally." @Telta14 wrote: "THEY'RE REMOVING WRAP OF THE DAY??? no way ... I miss when it was £1.99."

@rantoz82 added: "Well it was the only reason I went to McDonald's so......" While @Normal-Baker1721 said: "BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT."

McDonald's Response

A McDonald's spokesperson said: "From July 14, our new 'Get Any Wrap in the App' offer will enable customers to redeem any wrap for £2.49, any day of the week, on the McDonald's App. We regularly review ways to improve our value offers and moving this deal onto the app means customers will have more flexibility to choose their favourite wrap on any day."

World Cup Menu Launch

The change follows McDonald's launch of a new menu inspired by the 2026 World Cup, which saw fans go wild for one specific item. The chain will bring back Big Mac sauce in standalone pouches, thrilling many.

On Facebook's Newfoodsuk page, one person wrote: "Had to stock up on the Big Mac sauces from McDonald's!" Another added: "Good plan! What's the expire date on these."
