Manchester Monastery to host night market with over 100 traders

More than 100 independent makers, vintage finds, street food, festive drinks and a live DJ will bring a one-night only night market to Manchester this November. The Night Market UK is back in Manchester for its fourth winter, this time taking over Manchester's historic Monastery.

Taking place on Friday, November 6, visitors can expect a festive mix of independent shopping, street food, drinks and music. Taking over the ground floor of the Grade II-listed former church, the event will transform the historic Cloisters and Great Nave with more than 100 handpicked stalls, selling a range of gifts and goods.

An event, not just a market

“We're so much more than a market – we're an event,” says Becc Sanderson, Director of The Night Market UK. “The Monastery has absolutely taken our breath away. There's a tangible magic at a Night Market UK event: months of carefully curating brilliant traders, finding the right DJ, bringing together street food and bars, and creating a space where people can shop, connect and hang out.”

“We're passionate about creating a fabulous 'third space' – somewhere beyond home and work where people can come together, discover independent businesses and have a great time. The Monastery's ethos of welcoming and serving the people of Manchester makes it a perfect fit.”

Food, drink and entertainment

There will also be a tempting line-up of street food, a bar serving festive drinks, the Sanctuary Café's hot drinks, and a soundtrack from DJ Butho the Warrior.

Katy Griffiths, Business Development Manager at The Monastery Manchester, added: “We're so excited to be partnering with The Night Market UK and welcoming them to the Monastery for the first time. This is such a special building, rooted in community and connection, so an event that brings people together in this way is perfect for us.”

“What we love is that it's about so much more than shopping. It's about discovering brilliant independent businesses, enjoying great food and music, and creating a space where people can come together. We can't wait to see the Monastery buzzing for this fantastic event.”
