Lidl is set to launch a new Tronic dehumidifier in its middle aisle from Thursday 16 October, priced at £74.99. The appliance features a dedicated laundry mode, promising to dry clothes while saving on energy bills compared to traditional tumble dryers.
The dehumidifier can extract up to 10 litres of moisture per day and stores water in a 2.1-litre tank with a viewing window. It includes a full-tank alert and overflow protection, plus a washable filter for easy maintenance. Users can set desired humidity levels between 30% and 80%.
MoneySavingExpert founder Martin Lewis has previously recommended dehumidifiers over tumble dryers, which can cost up to £1 per hour to run. Dehumidifiers operate for just pennies an hour, making them a cost-effective alternative for drying laundry indoors.
The Tronic model comes with built-in wheels and a handle for easy portability around the home. It is available exclusively in Lidl stores while stocks last.
For those unable to visit Lidl, alternatives include the Duux bora smart 30l dehumidifier (top pick), the Daewoo 700ml budget model, and the EcoAir DDWH10 desiccant dehumidifier with heater, which offers similar functionality in a slim design.
