Lefties opens first UK store in Liverpool this week

Lefties, the affordable fashion chain owned by Inditex, will open its first UK store at the Liverpool ONE shopping centre on Thursday, September 27. The brand, which operates more than 200 stores globally, has been compared to Primark and sells women's, men's and children's clothing, as well as accessories, bags and footwear.

A sister brand to Zara and Bershka

Lefties is a sister brand of Zara and Bershka, both established UK high street names. Its existing stores are located in countries including Mexico, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Romania, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, Morocco and Tunisia.

The Liverpool store will span 50,000 square feet across two floors, occupying two units that previously housed Superdrug and Sports Direct and had sat empty. The spaces have been combined to form a single store.

Centre director expects 'incredibly popular' store

Brendan Hattam, centre director at Liverpool ONE, said he expects the store to be "incredibly popular". He added: "It speaks volumes that Lefties, part of the Inditex group, has chosen Liverpool ONE as its first site in the UK – our stand-out retail, leisure and hospitality offering located in the heart of the city is a major pull for leading international brands."

"We know Lefties will prove incredibly popular with guests thanks to its accessible, contemporary, trend-led collections, and we can't wait for the store to open its doors," he said.

Launch events and online shopping

Lefties describes itself as "one of the main affordable fashion companies in Spain and internationally", with products aimed at "all types of people and all ages". Shoppers can also buy online.

To mark the opening, Liverpool ONE is hosting a "special pop-up coffee experience featuring complimentary hot drinks and a stylish photo opportunity on Paradise Street" from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30. The shopping centre is also running a competition offering a £500 shopping spree at Lefties.
