Newcastle United's new signings are likely to be spotted at Khai Khai, a popular Indian restaurant on the Quayside, as they settle into Geordie life.
New Arrivals at Newcastle United
With the start of the 2026/27 season just weeks away, Newcastle have added several new players to their squad. The most notable signing is goalkeeper Luxas Hoirnicek, who joined from Braga for £25.7m and is currently with the squad in La Manga.
Other new faces include fellow goalkeeper Wen Jaoue, as well as Bazoumana Toure, Aladji Bamba, and Sean Steur. The club has seen significant changes, with Eddie Howe leaving after a 4-1 pre-season friendly defeat to Bristol City, and Matthias Jaissle tipped to replace him.
Khai Khai: A Footballer's Favourite
Khai Khai has become a go-to spot for Newcastle players and celebrities. Alan Shearer, a club legend, enjoyed a New Year's Eve curry there last year. Current players Tino Livramento, Fabian Schar, and Anthony Elanga are also regulars.
Nick Woltemade, who signed for Newcastle last summer, chose Khai Khai as his first meal after arriving, having stayed at the nearby Dakota hotel before his medical.
Gordon Ramsay's Praise
Gordon Ramsay, who visited during a break from filming a TV show in the area, described their butter chicken as the 'curry of his life.' The restaurant started as a takeaway-only operation during the Covid lockdown and has since become a beloved venue.
