Argos has reduced the price of the Hot Wheels Multi-Loop Race Off Playset, a toy shoppers have called the 'best toy to date', from £45 to £22.50 for a limited time. A TopCashback offer can bring the cost down further to £7.29 for new members, making it a budget-friendly Christmas gift option.
How the deal works
TopCashback is offering new members a free £15 sign-up bonus as well as cashback on any purchase of £15 or more at Argos. After the bonus and cashback are applied, the playset costs £7.29. Existing Argos customers who join TopCashback as new members will pay slightly more, at £7.41 after cashback.
The calculated price includes click and collect from an Argos store; delivery costs from £4.95. Cashback is not paid instantly and can take up to seven days to appear in accounts.
What the playset offers
The track features a series of loops, allowing users to race cars down the track to score points and be the first through the massive loop. It can be connected to other Hot Wheels sets, though Argos notes the track will not work with all Hot Wheels vehicles.
Similar toys include a Race Car Track Set on Amazon, priced at £19.99, which features 212 track pieces and accessories that can be built into a flat or 3D race track. Its snap-fit design is said to make assembly and disassembly easy. Smyths Toys also has a small saving on the Jurassic Park Dinosaur Super Loop Race Track Set, reduced from £29.99 to £24.99.
Shopper reviews
Reviews for the Hot Wheels set at Argos have been largely positive. One buyer said: "Bought for my six-year-old grandson, he loves it. Lots of fun playing with it. It was on sale, so a bargain."
Another added: "An easy-to-assemble track providing hours of fun. The sturdy track clips together well and stays together during play, even after a few goes around it. The instructions are simple to follow to get the most from the track play."
A third reviewer wrote: "I received this the other day, and I couldn't wait to get it out of the box. My children were so excited and thought Christmas had come early. We as a family spent a good few hours playing this, and the boys haven't put it down since. It's a great toy; once put together, it stays intact. It has been well made. It's not common for my children to play with the same toy for long periods of time but this keeps them occupied for hours. Best toy to date."
One buyer deducted a star, noting: "The grandchildren loved this and had fun for hours. The reason for only four stars is the fact there is only one car for a two track toy, and annoying that other Hot Wheels cars don't work the same."
How to claim the offer
To get the Hot Wheels set for as little as £7.29, shoppers should sign up as a new member at TopCashback for free, search for 'Argos' on the site, click through and buy the item normally. They will get £15 cashback when they spend £15 or more on an item, and the cashback will track to the TopCashback 'Earnings page' within seven days of the purchase.
