Homebase has confirmed a brand new UK opening this Friday, July 10, 2026, with more locations teased for the future. The DIY and garden retailer has been opening new 'Garden Centres by Homebase' inside The Range stores after collapsing into administration at the end of 2024.
Background of the Deal
Homebase was forced to call in administrators in November 2024, but later struck a deal with retail group CDS, which owns The Range. CDS snapped up 70 Homebase branches as part of the deal, saving around 1,600 jobs. Rival DIY chain B&Q took control of five branches, and a further four have since been transformed into Wickes.
New Opening in Alnwick
The retailer has confirmed its new Garden Centre by Homebase is located inside the former Homebase store in Alnwick, Northumberland. To celebrate the opening, customers who visit will receive exclusive opening offers and goodie bags for the first shoppers through the door. Homebase also teased more new garden centres in the future, inviting customers to suggest where they would like the next location.

Product Range and Future Plans
Each Garden Centre by Homebase provides shoppers with a selection of premium plants and garden accessories to help transform outdoor spaces. The openings come alongside the return of 'Kitchens by Homebase' in selected stores and a new Homebase Bathstore due to be coming soon.
