Home Bargains Shoppers Spot Massive Price Cuts On Brands

Shoppers have been left in stitches after a Home Bargains store displayed a star-shaped candle holder with a price tag of £11,000, reduced to just 69p. The error was spotted by a customer who shared a photo on the Facebook page Costoflivingcrisis Tips, showing the shelf label reading: 'Save £10,999.31, compared to recommended retail price (RRP). 69p. RRP £11,000.'

The post quickly went viral, with many users cracking jokes about the apparent bargain. One commenter said: 'I bought two last week at £11k each. Fuming.' Another added: 'That must be the gold plated holders at that price.' A third joked: 'And you know some poor marketing assistant got pulled into their boss’s office to explain themselves when an automated alert pointed out that stock was being sold at a 99.99483% markdown.'

Home Bargains responded with humour, posting the same image on its official Facebook page with the caption: 'When it comes to savings, we don’t mess about.' The post garnered nearly 1,000 likes and further amused comments, such as 'I bought these last year, better add them on the home insurance as a valuable item' and 'Someone is working from home with a cat “helping”.'
