Home Bargains has reduced the price of a premium bath oil from £32 to £6.99, offering shoppers a 78% saving. The Ren Atlantic Kelp and Microalgae Anti-Fatigue Bath Oil is available exclusively online as part of the retailer's StarBuy promotions, meaning it will not be found in stores.
The 100ml bottle, which typically retails for £33 at Superdrug and £18.95 at Beauty Kick, is described as a nourishing blend that hydrates and refreshes skin. According to the product description, it contains Atlantic kelp extract to boost moisture and plankton extract to protect against free radicals, while microalgae oil rich in vitamin E and omegas 6 and 9 helps calm and soothe.
The oil also features a blend of sage, rosemary, cypress, and geranium essential oils, which are said to relieve fatigue and uplift the senses. Home Bargains states that the product does not leave behind a greasy film, instead leaving skin feeling moisturised and supple after bathing.
Microalgae is often hailed as a 'superfood' for the skin, with claims that it provides intense hydration, antioxidant protection, and helps combat signs of ageing. It contains amino acids, peptides, and fatty acids that are believed to fortify the skin, reduce inflammation, and boost collagen production.
REN Clean Skincare, the British brand behind the product, was launched in 2000 and focuses on 'clean' formulations using natural ingredients suited to sensitive skin. The company, now part of Unilever, is known for bestselling products such as the Evercalm collection and the Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner.
