Home Bargains has given shoppers a first look at its upcoming Christmas collection, but the early reveal has sparked a mixed response. While some customers are thrilled, others have branded the launch "far too early" with Halloween and Bonfire Night still to come.
Social media sneak peek
The retailer took to its social media channels to share a 'sneak peek' of what will be included in its festive collection this year. The quick reel featured seasonal decorations and festive ornaments, including classic nutcrackers, themed kitchenware, holiday wreaths, reindeer Santa sacks and tree baubles.
The firm confirmed the range is "coming soon," with the full Instagram post reading: "We weren’t allowed to show you this yet... Sneak peek of the NEW Home Bargains Christmas range and we are NOT okay. Coming soon, you’ll want to be first in the queue. Which piece are you running for first? Comment below."
Shoppers divided
On Instagram alone, the sneak peek has received over 5,000 likes and hundreds of comments. Some shoppers were less than impressed, with one writing: "NOOOOOOOO it’s far too early for this, it’s still summer!!!!" Another echoed: "We are still in summer," while a third commented: "Nooooooo way way too early. We haven't even had Halloween yet for gods sake."
However, many others expressed excitement about the upcoming collection. One shopper wrote: "Died and gone to Christmas heaven," while another tagged a friend and said: "So excited for our Christmas trip to HB." Another added: "Stop teasing. When, just when," and one enthusiastic customer wrote: "Stop I’m so excited!!!!"
Store closures and new lines
In anticipation of the busy shopping period, Home Bargains has also confirmed that all 76 Scottish stores will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year. Christmas collections are already beginning to appear on shelves, with the retailer's website stocking several new lines.
This includes the return of the popular Polar Express collection, inspired by the 2005 animated movie. It features themed velour pyjamas for the whole family, described as perfect for Christmas movie marathons and opening presents on Christmas morning.
