Home Bargains £2.99 snail serum for 'glass skin'

Home Bargains is stocking a budget-friendly snail mucin serum that the brand claims can calm redness, reduce puffiness and deeply hydrate the skin. The Eternite Cool Glow Snail Mucin Cooling Metal Roller Serum is priced at £2.99 for a 50ml bottle and is available in stores across the UK.

Describing the product online, Home Bargains said: "Cool, soothe, and glow with every swipe! Eternite Cool Glow Snail Mucin Cooling Metal Roller Serum combines a refreshing cooling metal roller with a nourishing snail mucin serum to help calm redness, reduce the look of puffiness, and deeply hydrate the skin."

The retailer added that the cooling applicator "gently massages while delivering skin-loving ingredients that help repair the skin barrier, leaving your complexion smoother, firmer, and glowing with a healthy glass skin finish." It describes the product as "perfect for daily skincare routines" thanks to its "easy-to-use roller applicator".

Other serums and delivery options

The same brand also offers serums infused with PDRN (salmon DNA) and collagen, both also priced at £2.99 for 50ml. Customers who cannot find the products in stores can order all three online, sold separately.

Shoppers receive free delivery on orders meeting the £100 minimum spend. Packages below that threshold can cost around £3.95 in shipping to UK mainland addresses.

How it compares to K-Beauty rivals

The budget serum offers an affordable entry point into the K-Beauty skincare trend. It is significantly cheaper than popular brands like COSRX, whose 96 Snail Mucin Essence sells in 100ml bottles at Boots, Amazon and LookFantastic from £20.

Modern snail mucin skincare was popularised by the South Korean beauty industry in recent years. Although called snail mucin, the chemical is a complex natural cocktail of active ingredients, including hyaluronic and glycolic acid. The Home Bargains website does not specify what is included in its specific blend.

According to Healthline, common ingredients are said to improve the following skin concerns:

  • Allantoin: Soothes irritation, calms redness, and stimulates cell turnover to heal wounds.
  • Hyaluronic acid and glycosaminoglycans: Powerful humectants that draw moisture deep into the skin, binding water to plump up cells.
  • Glycolic acid: Offers ultra-gentle micro-exfoliation to improve surface texture and fade dark spots.
  • Glycoproteins and peptides: Structural proteins that signal the skin to produce more collagen and elastin, restoring firmness.
  • Zinc and copper peptides: Provide antimicrobial properties to fight acne bacteria while accelerating tissue repair.

Other beauty deals at Home Bargains

Home Bargains also has other beauty offers this week, including haircare, skincare and makeup. Some are online-exclusive, while most can be bought both in stores and online.

For example, the Splash Snow Angel Body Butter claims to leave skin "feeling soft, smooth and pampered." It is reduced from £17.50 to £1.29, according to Home Bargains. Another option is the £2.99 Sunkissed Whipped Strawberry Butter Body Cream, and the £1.99 Bubble T Matcha Body Butter, available in strawberry, blueberry and peach scents.
