Deliveroo has shared the UK's most popular Halloween treats for 2026, revealing a notable shift towards fresh fruits, savoury snacks, and last-minute convenience shopping. While traditional sweets like Haribo sharing bags and Cadbury Dairy Milk remain firm favourites, strawberries surprisingly secured the second-most popular spot overall. Savoury options such as Walkers crisps and Doritos also ranked highly on nationwide order lists.
Last-Minute Shopping Trends
The research shows that in 2025, half of all Halloween essentials were purchased just after 3pm on the day, with orders surging sharply between 4pm and 5pm. Nearly one-third of total orders were placed after 5pm as trick-or-treating had already begun.
York, Cambridge, and London emerged as the least organised cities, with over a third of their orders arriving after 5pm. In contrast, residents in Bournemouth, Cardiff, and Aberdeen prepared well ahead of time, stocking up hours before peak festivities.
Shift Towards Healthier Options
It appears a growing number of households are ditching standard sweets for healthier alternatives. In cities including London, Cambridge, Aberdeen, Oxford, and Edinburgh, customer baskets were packed with almonds, raisins, sultanas, cashews, and fresh berries.
Last year, in Oxford, nut orders jumped by nearly 50% on Halloween compared to the previous week. Savoury platters were also popular. Edinburgh, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge, and York all recorded strong sales of humous, dips, sausage rolls, and pickled onion Monster Munch, with savoury "picky bits" climbing nearly 20% in Edinburgh alone.
Pumpkin Demand and Top 10 List
"Halloween on a Saturday changes everything," said Suzy McClintock, VP Consumer at Deliveroo. "Last year the rush started when the school bell went; this year we expect it to start earlier and build throughout the day with parties as well as trick-or-treaters making the most of the moment."
Demand for carving pumpkins also shot up, surging roughly 25% compared to 2024. Nottingham topped the UK for last-minute pumpkin deliveries, followed by Edinburgh, London, Cardiff, and Bournemouth.
