Shoppers can pick up Sainsbury's Habitat Macadam Metal Folding Chair, priced at £17, for as little as £1.58 through a TopCashback offer for new members. The deal comes as many households prepare to host friends and family over the festive period, with foldable seating offering a practical solution for extra guests without changing existing furniture.
How the cashback offer works
TopCashback is offering new members a £15 sign-up bonus alongside cashback on purchases of £15 or more at Habitat. This brings the chair down to £1.58 after cashback. Existing Habitat customers who join TopCashback as new members will receive a slightly reduced rate, making the chair £1.72 after the offer.
These prices are calculated with free click and collect, while standard delivery costs from £4.50 or is free for small items on orders over £100. To take advantage of the offer, shoppers need to make their purchase through a unique link. Cashback is not paid instantly and can take up to seven days to land in accounts.
Chair features and colour options
The Macadam Metal Folding Chair is a sleek space-saving seat, described as a modern twist on a classic 1970s design. It is made from black, powder coated steel with rubber feet to prevent slipping or scuffing the carpet. The chair folds away when not needed and can be tucked under a desk for work-from-home use.
Alongside the black hue, shoppers can choose from seven other colours: green, red, grey, white, orange, blue, and yellow.
Shopper reviews and alternatives
The chair holds an overall star-rating of 4.8 out of 5 based on 4,172 reviews. One shopper said: "Bought for my son's university room. Was perfect as it can be used then closed and tucked away to make more space." Another wrote: "Great quality chair for the price and a nice finish. Very sturdy and stable. Folds easily for storage."
Some reviewers noted colour discrepancies, with one three-star review stating: "Nice comfy chair for the price but I bought the yellow one and it's more of a green yellow colour. Quite disappointed as it looks like a mustard yellow colour online." Another added: "Really comfortable and a good size. But the shiny finish and primary school colour lets it down a bit."
Elsewhere, Dunelm's Emily Folding Dining Chair in black velvet retails for £15, while the Mia Set of 2 Dining Chairs at Dusk has been reduced to £89 from £139.
To claim the chair for as little as £1.58, shoppers should sign up as a new TopCashback member via the link, search for 'Habitat', click through and buy the item normally, then receive £15 cashback when spending £15 or more.
