Greggs opens Shiney Row store creating 12 new jobs

Greggs has opened a new bakery in Shiney Row, near Houghton-le-Spring in Sunderland, creating 12 new jobs for the village. The shop, located on Westbourne Terrace, opened today and gives residents access to the bakery chain's range of food and drinks.

The village already had a Cooplands bakery, but this is its first Greggs. The opening comes just in time for the Greggs Christmas menu.

New jobs and menu options

The new shop has created 12 jobs for the area, offering freshly prepared food and drinks throughout the day, from breakfast and lunch to sweet treats, Fairtrade coffee and evening options.

Classic Greggs items are available, including Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, and vegan alternatives, alongside seasonal launches such as the Festive Bake, the all-new Salt & Chilli Chicken Roll, and a range of over ice drinks including the Candy Cane Mint Iced Matcha Latte.

A range of hot food is also on offer, including Pigs in Blankets and crispy Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, as well as pizza slices such as the festive Pepperoni Pizza with Hot Honey, BBQ Chicken & Bacon, and Veggie Feast.
