Greggs has confirmed that its Steak & Stilton Bake will return to UK stores on September 3, seven years after the savoury pastry last appeared on its menus. The announcement came as the bakery chain revealed its autumn menu, which also includes several new additions.
Return of a fan favourite
The Steak & Stilton Bake consists of diced beef cooked in a rich gravy, blue Stilton cheese and grilled onions wrapped in glazed puff pastry with a black pepper crumb topping. It is priced from £2.50 and contains 465 kcals.
Greggs said the pastry achieved “near-legendary” status when it first appeared on its menus seven years ago, with many regulars remembering it well. The company promises a “deliciously indulgent take on a classic British flavour pairing”.
New autumn menu items
Alongside the returning bake, Greggs is introducing the Buffalo Chicken Baguette, packed with buffalo-style chicken, mayonnaise, mature Cheddar cheese and red onion in a freshly baked baguette, priced from £4.10. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza Slice contains the same flavours on a classic focaccia-style base, priced from £2.70.
The Chicken & Pepperoni Pizza Toastie combines chicken in a pizza-style sauce, mature Cheddar cheese and pepperoni between slices of white sourdough-style bread, topped with béchamel sauce and grated mixed cheese, priced from £3.80.

The full list of new items coming to Greggs menus in September includes the Steak & Stilton Bake, Buffalo Chicken Baguette, Buffalo Pizza Slice, Chicken & Pepperoni Toastie, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte, Iced Caramel Chocolate, Iced Mocha, Iced Chocolate, Bonfire Toffee Muffin and Pumpkin Spice Doughnut.
Greggs fans have reacted with excitement on social media, with one Reddit user saying of the Steak & Stilton Bake: “I’m looking forward to this the most.” Another wrote: “Still in intense mourning for the beloved steak and cheese. I gasped out loud when I saw Steak & Stilton up there.”
