Gower fire-hit health club announces return at Swansea Airport

Langrove Health Club, the popular Gower venue devastated by fire earlier this year, has announced it will reopen in a temporary new home. The club, based in Parkmill, Swansea, will resume operations within a building at Swansea Airport, with a full timetable of 27 classes a week available for customers.

Fire damage and response

The fire broke out in August, taking hold in the sauna room before spreading to the rest of the complex. Firefighters worked through the night to bring the blaze under control, but significant damage was caused, to the heartbreak of staff and customers.

Owners Chris Gardner and Cameron Stewart spoke at the time of the "blood, sweat and tears" they had put into building the club, leaving them "devastated" by what transpired.

Temporary home and reopening date

Now, two months later, the business is set to welcome back members on Monday, October 26. According to its website, the temporary venue will include a studio space, a fully-equipped gym and free weights, along with a stretch area, changing facilities and sports massage and therapies.

A statement read: "We officially open Monday, October 26, at our temporary home at Swansea Airport."

"After everything that’s happened over the last few months, it feels incredible to finally be able to say that we’re getting ready to welcome you all back through the doors."

"The team are working flat out behind the scenes, and the new gym and studio are coming together every day."

"October 26. Langrove is back."

The statement added: "Head to our website now to view the timetable and memberships."
