Superdrug has opened a new, larger store on Northumberland Street, Newcastle's busiest shopping street, taking over the former People's Choice outlet. The 5,660 sq ft space is an expansion of the chain's existing presence on the street, offering an enhanced shopping experience with a wider range of cosmetics, international beauty products, and an expanded fragrance counter featuring bestselling designer and luxury perfumes.
Health and Beauty Services
The new store also provides pharmacy and nurse services, catering to customers' health needs. Clare Jennings, Property Director at Superdrug, stated: "We're pleased to announce the opening of our new store in Northumberland Street. This new store strengthens Superdrug's presence in the area, allowing us to bring an even wider range of health, beauty and wellness products and services to our customers, alongside great value and an enhanced shopping experience."
Job Creation and Staff Transition
Jennings added that the opening will create new jobs, supporting the local economy and providing career opportunities. A spokesperson confirmed that all staff from the original store have moved to the new location, and a new business will occupy the old store.

The store features an impressive skincare range, extensive makeup offerings, and professional health and beauty services such as threading and piercing treatments. It also includes a sun care section, healthcare products, and insulated travel cups, among other essentials. The expanded footprint allows for more brands to be stocked than before.
