Abbey Farm Rhuddlan, a family-run caravan and glamping park in Denbighshire, North Wales, has been recognised as one of the UK's best after being included in the 2026 Outstanding Sites guide. Located less than 47 miles from Liverpool city centre, the park offers mountain views, peaceful surroundings and luxury stays starting from £32 per night for two people.
Award-Winning Park with Historic Roots
The site, which was also crowned Best Caravan Park in North Wales in 2025, is surrounded by rolling fields and grazing animals, with views of the Clwydian mountain range. It combines a tranquil rural setting with easy access to beaches, historic attractions and popular North Wales destinations. The farm has a history dating back to 1258, when a Dominican Friary once stood on the site. The farmhouse was built in the early 1800s, with surrounding farm buildings dating back as early as 1283.
Facilities and Accommodation
Guests can enjoy the site's cosy coffee shop and farm shop, which stocks home-produced beef, lamb and pork alongside locally sourced goods. The historic village of Rhuddlan, home to cafés, pubs and Rhuddlan Castle, is only a 10-minute walk away. There are 26 spacious grass pitches, each measuring 8m by 6m and equipped with 16-amp electric hook-ups for caravans, campervans and motorhomes. For those seeking luxury, three adults-only glamping pods are available, each sleeping two people with an en-suite bathroom, fully equipped kitchenette, outdoor seating and free Wi-Fi. Two of the pods also feature wood-fired hot tubs with views of the Clwydian mountain range.
Location and Pet Policy
The park is well placed for exploring the surrounding area. The seaside towns of Rhyl and Prestatyn are both around a 10-minute drive away, while Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park can be reached in around an hour. Dogs are welcome on the touring pitches, with up to two allowed per booking provided they are kept on leads and supervised at all times. The glamping pods are pet free.
Abbey Farm Rhuddlan is open from April 1 until October 31. Touring pitches start from £32 per night for two people. According to North Wales Live, which visited the site recently, it is a “hidden gem”.
