Dunelm has reduced the price of its Jaya Premium Hand-Knotted Abstract Wool Rug by 50%, bringing the 160cm x 230cm (5ft x 7.5ft) size down from £799 to £399.50. The vibrant rug has been described by one shopper as a piece that 'really finishes a room off'.
A 120-day handmade process
The wool pile has been meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans over more than 120 days and finished with a soft ribbed texture. The design blends warming tones with a vibrant traditional style, intended to inject colour and soft texture into a living room, bedroom, den or conservatory.
Dunelm advises that the rug should be cleaned by a specialist when necessary, and notes that it may shed during the first few months as the fibres settle.
Alternative rug options
Elsewhere, the Nate 100% Heavyweight Wool Floral Pattern Rug costs £149 at Dusk. Measuring 120 x 170cm, it features delicate floral motifs in earthy shades framed by a botanical border, and is suited for placing beside a bed, beneath a coffee table or in a reading corner.
The Blue Diamond Tufted Cream Wool Rug is available from £100 at Sainsbury's Habitat. Made from a wool-rich blend, the 170 x 120cm harlequin design is described as naturally durable and comfortable for everyday living.
Shopper review
The Jaya rug has so far received one glowing review on Dunelm's website. The shopper wrote: "Gorgeous rug. I ummed and ahhed for a while due to the price but it’s so worth it. Really soft underfoot and the colours are so gorgeous. Really finishes off our living room."
The rug is only available in one size, 160cm x 230cm, and one colourway, which may limit its suitability for some rooms.
