Daisy Chain, the popular charity shop known for designer bargains, is set to move from its Team Valley premises to a larger megastore on Gibside Way near the Metrocentre in Gateshead, with the new store opening in January 2027.
The charity, which supports autistic and neurodiverse people, announced the move on Facebook, telling shoppers that the current Team Valley store will remain open as usual until the new doors open. The existing shop, which opened at Retail World in 2023, is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and sells furniture, clothing, toys and books, with prices starting from 50p.
Designer Labels and Community Excitement
The store features a designer clothing boutique offering brands including Ralph Lauren, Paul Smith, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste and Hugo Boss, as well as Balmain, Calvin Klein and Gant. Shoppers have reported finding garments and accessories from labels such as Ralph Lauren and Versace.
The announcement has drawn an enthusiastic response from customers, with one regular replying: 'This is super exciting. I can't wait' and another reacting: 'It’s Enormous - best wishes for set up and opening.'
Move to Gibside Way
Staff confirmed the relocation in a Facebook post, stating: 'The secret's out!!! Daisy Chain Megastore is moving to Gibside Way, Gateshead NE11 9BT, and it's going to be bigger and better than anything we've done before.'
The team added: 'Opening January 2027. But we're not going anywhere just yet. Our Team Valley store is open as usual right up until we launch, so keep shopping, keep donating and keep popping in to see us. Nothing changes until the new doors open.'
All funds raised by the shop go towards helping the Teesside-based charity provide support services for autistic and neurodiverse people.
