Community Fibre Offers Londoners Three Months Free Broadband
Community Fibre: Three Months Free Broadband for Londoners

Broadband customers in the UK can find significant savings by shopping around, with independent provider Community Fibre currently offering Londoners three months of free internet service. The deal applies to all new customers signing up to eligible packages on 12- or 24-month contracts, and includes a guarantee of no mid-contract price increases, freezing current rates until 2028 for 24-month deals and until 2027 for 12-month contracts.

Savings Compared to National Providers

Community Fibre claims that these offers can save customers up to £458 compared to rival national providers. For those opting for a 12-month contract, the price after the free three months starts at just £12.50 per month from month four. On a 24-month contract, the price after the free period begins at £15 per month for a 75Mbps package. In contrast, a comparable BT broadband package in London costs £24.99 per month, with an annual £4 increase, reaching £32.99 by April 2028.

For £25 per month after the initial free term, Community Fibre offers 1Gbps fibre, significantly faster than BT's equivalent package at the same price.

Community Fibre's Unique Network

Community Fibre operates its own full-fibre broadband network, unlike other challenger brands that lease bandwidth from BT's Openreach network. This independence limits its availability to London, where it serves every borough. The three-month free offer applies to all new customers across the capital.

Alternative for Non-Londoners: Three Mobile Broadband

For those outside London, mobile provider Three offers a broadband service using 4G and 5G technology instead of fixed lines. Three is currently offering a 24-month plan with unlimited data for £11 per month for the first six months (half price), rising to £22 from month seven. The plan is subject to annual price increases of £3.50 per month each April. No installation or landline is required, and customers need only a cellular signal providing at least 150Mbps. Three also offers to pay customers' last bill from their old provider up to £200 to cover early termination fees when switching.

Virgin Media's Offer

Virgin Media is offering broadband from £28.99 per month, which includes its Stream set-top box with access to free-to-air channels. Virgin's service runs on its own network and may be available in areas not served by Community Fibre or BT's Openreach network.
