Supermarkets have announced their Christmas delivery slot booking dates for December, with some opening bookings as early as September. Shoppers are advised to act quickly as slots are expected to be snapped up.
When can you book at each supermarket?
Sainsbury's customers can book a Christmas delivery slot from October 23 for orders between December 18 and Christmas Eve. Delivery Pass holders get early access from October 16. The pass offers two options - Anytime or Midweek - both allowing customers to see slots in advance, get priority at busy times, up to one free delivery and one-hour slots. Click and collect slots can also be booked from the nearest store.
Asda customers can book a slot for Christmas delivery or collection between December 21 and 23. Delivery Pass customers can book from Tuesday October 13, while all other customers can book from Tuesday October 20. The pass provides early access to slots year-round, free same-day, next-day or up to three weeks notice delivery or click and collect, and recurring weekly slots. It costs from £3.95 per month or saves up to £194 a year when paid annually. Food to Order items can be added to a Christmas order, with the last date to add them being December 15.
Tesco and Morrisons booking details
Tesco's Christmas delivery slots go on sale at 6am on November 3 for Anytime Delivery Saver or Click+Collect customers. All remaining customers, including those on the Off-peak Delivery Saver Plan, can book at 6am on November 5. Slots are subject to availability and will be delivered or ready to collect between December 20 and 24. The Anytime 12-month pass costs £6.99 a month, the Off-Peak 12-month pass costs £3.99 a month, and a Click+Collect-only option costs £2.49 a month over six months. To secure early slots, customers must register for Anytime delivery by midnight on November 2. The supermarket has added an extra 60,000 delivery slots this year. Customers who register for the Delivery Saver scheme by October 18 will also get free Whoosh delivery on orders exceeding £25 until 11 January 2027.
Morrisons opened its Christmas delivery slots on October 1 for Delivery Pass holders, and for all customers on October 7. Slots can be booked between December 18 and December 31, with a minimum spend of £25.
Waitrose opens earliest
Waitrose opened its Christmas delivery slots for all customers on September 30 2026, the first to do so. Shoppers can reserve delivery or collection slots between December 20 and 24, with 10,000 more slots available this year. Food choices can be modified until midnight on December 15. For New Year's, the Food Made to Order request must be completed by December 21. Products ordered for Christmas are guaranteed to last until Boxing Day, and 1 January for New Year's.
