Bodycare Returns to UK High Streets with 17 New Stores
Bodycare Returns to UK High Streets with 17 New Shops

Bodycare, the high street beauty and health retailer that collapsed into administration in September 2025 and was rescued a week later, is making a major comeback with 17 new store openings across the UK. The company's official relaunch begins with its flagship Sheffield branch at The Moor Shopping Centre, which opened its doors on July 10 and will host a launch party on July 18.

Managing Director Reveals Expansion Plans

Managing Director David Stern told the Daily Express that four stores will open in August, followed by 10 more between September and November. The Sheffield store is the first of 17 locations, with others including Highcross Leicester, Derbion Derby, Merry Hill Brierley Hill, The Broadway Bradford, The Mall Blackburn, St Johns Leeds, Mill Gate Bury, The Centre Livingston, The Bridges Sunderland, Cwmbran Centre, Metrocentre Gateshead, The Fort Glasgow, Frasers Plus Luton, Golden Square Warrington, Grosvenor Shopping Northampton, and Trinity Walk Wakefield.

Community-Focused Retail Model

Mr Stern emphasised that the high street did not fail retail, but retail failed the high street. He stated that community is the foundation of Bodycare's restoration. Shoppers want good prices and value, and the store aims to be part of the community, not just a national chain that dropped in. He said: "That's how we thought retail should be, and we think that if you do that, and you bring that to the high street, communities will see it, and understand it, and embrace it, and that, it's always been community for us. The business model we built is to enhance that community."

Sheffield Flagship Store Features

The 3,982 sq ft (370 sq metre) Sheffield store offers all the expected beauty and health products, with more options. A "historical top 20" bay features Sheffield's bestselling products brought back at the same price they were two years ago. The store also includes a free piercing studio staffed by nurses and a live broadcast studio for customers to create content. Both services are free, with bookings via Bodycare's website. Mr Stern explained that the studios are open-minded: if someone wants to do a video about fishing in Sheffield, they can use the studio.

Technology and Social Media Integration

Every store will have a TikTok studio and 20 screens showing content filmed by customers, not just promotions. Mr Stern noted: "There's a ton of tech underneath all of this, but customers aren't gonna see AI. They're just gonna experience a better shopping experience." The launch party on July 18 will feature giveaways, offers, and three flash mobs dancing to the store's soundtrack, "What's In Your Bag", choreographed by a loyal customer.
