B&M shoppers race to buy limited edition Mini Cheddar flavours

Mini Cheddars fans can now pick up two new limited edition flavours at B&M, after the snacks were unveiled on social media. The new cheeseburger and cheese pizza variants are both available in six packs at the retailer.

The flavours were revealed in a post shared on Instagram and Facebook by UK Newest Foods, which wrote: "Cheeseburger and Cheese Pizza Mini Cheddars out now at B&M!" Commenters on the Facebook post largely tagged friends and family, alerting them to the existence of the new baked snacks.

Shoppers react to new flavours

One person wrote: "Ooh, got to try these!" Another added: "These look tasty." A third also said: "These are banging!" The packaging for both new flavours indicates that they are "limited edition", meaning they will not be around forever.

Previous release in 2022

It is not the first time that both cheeseburger and cheese pizza flavours have been on shop shelves. Both flavours were released in 2022 for a brief time, and food bloggers at the time were not hugely convinced by the offerings.

One person said the pizza flavour reminded them of the "cheapest possible frozen pizza", while another who sampled the cheeseburger flavour said it was "pleasant" but not something they would buy again.

Mixed reviews from bloggers

One reviewer said: "The reluctant taste testers always used to say that pizza flavour crispy snacks taste of the cheapest possible frozen pizza from the shop on the corner that you only buy in an emergency. And although I didn't have the reluctant taste testers around to ask for their opinions, I do agree with what they had to say. What a pity."

The other wrote: "These Mini Cheddars Banging Cheeseburger are pleasant enough, and I'll happily eat up the rest of the packs, but I wouldn't rush out to buy any more. I'm not sure they quite hit the 'banging' flavour that was promised in the title."

Marketing director's comments from 2022

When the flavours were originally released in 2022, Leighton Wall, the Marketing Director for Mini Cheddars' parent company Pladis, said he hoped the flavours would "inspire younger adults" to buy into the brand. He said: "We anticipate the range will be received with open arms by established and loyal Mini Cheddars fans, whilst also inspiring younger adults seeking trend-led flavour variants to buy into the brand."
