Black Sheep Coffee is set to open 14 new stores in London over the next five years, marking a major expansion for the chain. The new locations will give the brand a presence in every London borough, with stores planned for Sutton, Croydon, Lewisham, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Haringey and Enfield, among other areas.
Expansion across Southern England
Beyond London, Black Sheep Coffee will establish at least 12 new stores in East and West Sussex with franchise partners, plus 13 additional stores across Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Hertfordshire. The brand, which began as a stall in Camden, was founded in 2013 by former flatmates Gabriel Shohet and Eirik Holth.
Their stated mission was to "rid the world of boring, average tasting coffee" and challenge corporate giants. After developing the idea, the pair quit their corporate jobs on the same day to build the brand from scratch.
Focus on high-footfall locations
The company now aims to build on its success by opening in high-footfall areas, including high streets, retail parks and shopping centres. Gabriel Shohet and Eirik Holth, Co-Founders of Black Sheep Coffee, said: "We’re thrilled to double down in London where our journey started, and to bring Black Sheep to many exciting new markets across Southern England.
"None of this would be possible without our exceptional franchise partners who live and breathe Black Sheep and deliver our distinctive products and customer experience in their communities."
