A social media influencer has compiled a list of freebies available on your birthday, with high street favourites including Krispy Kreme, Lindt, Space NK and Lidl offering complimentary treats. The post by Angelo Coassin, who typically shares culinary content with his 1.5 million followers, has attracted more than 41,000 likes.
In the video, Mr Coassin highlights a range of free items he obtained for his birthday, starting with a sweet treat from Lidl's bakery during the week of his birthday. He notes that this requires being signed up to the Lidl Plus loyalty scheme.
Rituals offers a free hand wash or cream with a small purchase, while Krispy Kreme gives customers a doughnut of their choosing at no cost. Mr Coassin described trying the classic doughnut for the first time, saying 'it was Mamma Mia'.
Lindt, the premium chocolate retailer, provides a complimentary item on your birthday, with Mr Coassin picking up some Dubai chocolate as he had not tried it before. At Space NK, he used his NDULGE card to receive a Byoma SPF and an Erborian CC cream.
Mr Coassin, who lives in London, advises that most shops allow you to visit the whole week after your birthday, noting he was in Italy this year for his actual birthday. One commenter responded: 'I only knew that Costa gives you a free slice of cake I'll be visiting quite of few of these hopefully.'
