We tested each machine with a filling of grated mozzarella and mature cheddar, plus tuna for a healthier twist, on mayo-coated sourdough. We measured heat-up time, cooking time, power consumption, handle and exterior temperature, and internal sandwich temperature, plus ease of cleaning.
The Breville two-portion model stood out for its removable non-stick plates, which made cleanup easy, and its even cooking.
